Family Shelters of London & Middlesex
To all our supporters and volunteers who made this possible. Our shelter was made whole by your efforts.
We opened our doors in 1973. Canada’s first women’s shelters opened that same year, and there were barely a handful in the whole country. A family with nowhere to sleep had almost nowhere to call. For forty-six years, this was somewhere to call.
Although it is with a heavy heart that this shelter is now closed, there are still many in London that provide immeasurable value. In 2019 the city brought shelter intake together into one system called Coordinated Access, so there is a single number to call instead of shelter after shelter. The work carried on in other hands.
Please remember that there are people who are always willing to help, and that you are never alone.
